Citrus Essential Oil Botanical name of the oil is Citrus limonum. Other name of citrus oil is lemon essential oil as the oil is derived from the rinds of common citrus fruits like lime, lemon, orange, grapefruit and tangerine. From centuries citrus essential oil is used to give relief from cold and flu. Because of the oil’s anti-cancer benefits due to the presence of a special chemical in the oil named as limonene it is widely used in preparing cancer medicines.
