St John’s Wort Essential Oil Botanical name of the oil is Hypericum Perforatum. The oil is commonly known as tipton’s wood, chase devil and Klamath weed. The tree St. Johns wort is a native of Europe and is found mainly in the areas of temperate climate. The tree bears yellow flowers and it is these flowers which are used in the extraction of the oil through steam distillation process. The oil is ideal for the treatment of sensitive skin. The oil also gives relief from sunburns, cuts and irritations.
