Violet Essential Oil Botanical name of the oil is Viola odorata. Many other names of the oil are wood violet oil, sweet violet oil, common violet oil and garden violet oil. The herb is a native of Europe and bears leaves and flowers which are used in the extraction of essential oil through steam distillation process. It is a very small part of the herb viola odorata that is used in the aromatherapy.
